Granted, not a day goes by that we don’t love and appreciate our pets. But that’s not to say we can’t celebrate them in an extra-special way when opportunity allows! And one such opportunity has arrived! Today is National Love Your Pet Day – here’s how you could mark the occasion…
Plan an activity they’ll love
Whether it’s a trot via a favourite woodland trail or a frisbee-throwing session on the beach, show your pet you care by lining up an activity you know they will appreciate.
Give your pet the pawfect gift
What better way to say “thanks fur being you!” than with a thoughtful present? It could be a cute new toy that promises hours of fun, a favourite tasty treat (more on this below), or a stylish outdoor coat that your animal companion can keep snug and warm in. Bonus points for wrapping paper that they can play with, too!
Treat your four-legged friend to a pamper session
We’re not suggesting that you crack out the cucumber and face masks (imagine!), but there are some ultra-sweet ways of pampering your pet. You could opt for a lengthy grooming session, spend some time giving him or her a soothing massage, or treat them to a bubble bath – complete with a conditioning coat treatment!
Say it with snacks
A tin of juicy tuna, a chicken-stuffed dog treat, a crunchy carrot or apple….whatever pet you have, and whichever treat tickles their fancy, now’s a good time to spoil them via their stomach. As always, just remember not to go OTT!
