Celebrating 20 years of YuMOVE

They say time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s certainly true at YuMOVE! As we celebrate 20 years of helping pets thrive, it’s the perfect time to look back at where we started and how far we’ve come.

A dog called Charlie

Back in 2006, co-founders Dr John Howie and John Davies set out to transform pets’ lives with their high-quality, science-backed supplements.

It all started with John Davies’ beloved Chocolate Labrador, Charlie, who inspired their very first product – a skin & coat supplement called YuMEGA.  

Pet owners loved it so much that they started asking for help with their dogs’ joints, and in 2009, YuMOVE Joint Care was born!  

Thanks to its unique ingredients, YuMOVE Joint Care was a supplement like no other, and soon became the UK’s no.1 veterinary joint supplement.* A title it still holds today.

Talking of crowns...

Among our proudest moments over the years is achieving royal recognition. In 2016 and 2018, we received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and in 2023, we were honoured with the first-ever King’s Award for Enterprise.

We were also delighted to welcome HRH The Princess Royal in 2021 to mark our success, commitment to local employment, and charitable work during the pandemic.

We’re B Corp certified

In 2023, we achieved another of our early ambitions, to become B Corp certified. 

It was a huge moment for us, because B Corp status is only awarded to companies who reach the highest social and environmental standards, from operating sustainably to supporting customers and employees.

Over the past 20 years, our product range and customer base (hello cats, horses and humans) have really grown! And now, alongside the UK’s best-loved Joint Support supplements,* you can now find vet-recommended, scientifically backed Dental Support, Digestive Support, Calming Support and more.

Since our first (tiny) stand 18 years ago, Crufts has always been one of our favourite events of the year. 

Now, as an official show sponsor, we love spending four fun-filled days with the best kind of people – and talking endlessly about dogs!

At this year’s show, we unveiled our new look packaging and gave away more YuMOVE goodies than ever.

What’s next at YuMOVE?

As you can see, we rarely sit still, and just because it’s our birthday, there’s no time to rest.

We kicked off the year with a fresh look and launched our loyalty programme, YuMOVE Rewards, to thank you for supporting your pet’s health.
